Atomex has launched atomic swap exchange on mobile platforms iOS and Android through its own cryptocurrency wallet, which can now be downloaded for free through the AppStore and Google Play. Decentralized cross-chain exchange is available through your own non-custodial mobile wallet, which also allows you to receive, send and store cryptocurrencies, as well as easily participate in Tezos (XTZ) staking via delegation mechanism.

# Atomic swap

Atomic swap is a protocol for trustless cross-chain exchange of assets using Hash Time Locked contracts (HTLC). Atomex combines an improved version of the Atomic Swap protocol with a centralized order matching engine to ensure the liquidity and safe execution. Atomex crypto wallet supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Tezos, as well as stablecoins such as USDT (ERC20 token), tzBTC (FA1.2 token), tBTC and wBTC wrapped Bitcoin.

# Push notifications on swap execution

The implementation of atomic swaps on mobile devices includes one important feature. The application is required to send payment and redeem transactions within a certain time period (see Atomic swap on practice for more details). On a mobile device, the application runs in the background for a short time, so Atomex devs applied Push notifications to be sent when the user has to open the application to complete the atomic swap. In all outstanding cases the redeem transaction can be sent by a third-party service, the same way as it works when the user receives the purchased currency on an empty Ethereum or Tezos wallet, for example, swapping BTC -> ETH or BTC -> XTZ.

# A pleasant feature for Tezos wallet users

The Atomex application is a product of the Baking Bad team, well known in the Tezos community for the Baking Bad delegation dashboard and TzKT explorer. Using the TzKT data Atomex displays publicly known entities in the list of operations. This is very convenient and among other things allows you to distinguish your own transactions from the staking reward payments. In addition to that, Atomex tracks bakers’ statuses on the Baking Bad listing and will warn you if you try to delegate your tez to overdelegated or “bad” bakers.

# What’s next

The following features will be added in the near future:

  • Detailization of the atomic swap process.
  • Improved management of your HD addresses (selecting a specific address when sending assets).
  • Allowing users to add arbitrary Ethereum and Tezos tokens to the wallet.
  • Segwit addresses support for Bitcoin
  • Ledger hardware wallet support.
  • Various UX improvements and advanced account management.
  • New currencies and tokens enabled for atomic swap.

“We are always glad to receive suggestions and feedback from our users. Feel free to evaluate and review the Atomex application, we will surely take that into account with the new updates!"

- Yours, Baking Bad team!
